Family Support

You Are Not Alone

What family support looks like

We fill in the gap

A Parent Support Advocate joins the day we accept the case, helping parents understand what is happening, organize what investigators need, and stay connected through the search. The goal is simple: parents should never be left alone in the space between asking for help and getting answers.

Parent support advocate

Your advocate joins the day we accept your case. They explain what’s happening at each stage, help you organize the information investigators need, and make sure you’re never waiting in silence for an update.

Parent support groups

Through the H.O.P.E. program, parents of missing and recovered children meet with people who genuinely understand: the grief, the anger, the waiting, and what comes after.

Counseling

Healing takes more than one organization, and we don’t pretend to do it all. We connect your family and your child with trauma-informed counselors and trusted community partners, and the Restoration Fund can help with rent, groceries, and the practical needs that don’t pause during a crisis.

Progress tracking for up to two years

We stay after the reunion. Your advocate checks in as your child gets back into school, into counseling, and into their own interests, for up to two years after they come home. Recovery isn’t a moment, and neither is our support.

Programs

Ways we support

Family Support is not something we hand off after the search. It starts the day we accept a case and can stay with the family for up to two years, through the return, rebuilding, and the setbacks that can come with both.

A support group where parents of missing and recovered children meet with people who genuinely understand. Grief, anger, hope, and practical advice.

Practical help with essential needs: rent, groceries, school costs, and the bills that don’t stop during a crisis. We have paid a family’s rent when that was what they needed most.

One consistent person from acceptance through healing. Your advocate coaches you on how to respond rather than react, and helps rebuild trust once your child is home.

After the find

Support for recovered children

Coming home is the start of the harder work. A Survivor Advocate works with your child directly. Progress isn’t linear. Setbacks happen, and we stay, tracking each child’s progress for up to two years, until they are safe, stable, and back to being a kid.

Back to school

Advocates help with re-enrollment, catching up, and staying on track. Graduating high school is a priority, and we fund vocational training when that’s the better path.

Groups

Referrals to therapy and trauma counseling when they’re needed, plus mentoring and steady adult relationships.

Interests

Healing often looks like feeling normal again. The Restoration Fund pays for the sports, art, music, and activities that reconnect a kid with who they are.

In Collaboration With

Our Partners

No single organization can do all of this. We coordinate with trauma therapists, community-based nonprofits, school districts, social services, and local charities, so each family gets what they actually need, from counseling to rent help. When another organization is better positioned to serve, we make the connection.

What Do We Do?

We find xaviers and other kids like him.

The find was the fast part. What followed took two years: therapy, a hospitalization, re-enrollment, setbacks, and steady advocacy alongside his mom. Today Xavier is sober, back in school, and on the honor roll.

There are no fees for our services, ever. Every search and every hour of Family Support is funded by people who decided a missing child was their problem too.
